Dungeons, Dragons and Dice rolling

Last weekend I got together with a bunch of mates for our biannual game of D&D.

We are that old, and have been playing that long, that we still use 2nd Edition rules.

We have experienced players and players who, despite having played for around 20 years, still call themselves novices.

Over the years the snacks have reduced in quantity as the waistlines have increased (strangely I though the converse would be true) and we drink more tea and coffee these days than beer.

But was still love the game. it's always great fun.

We managed to not have any deaths amongst the characters this time around, although we did come very close a couple of times and we did progress quite well, or so we think, the DM may have a different opinion.

Looking forward to the next session.

Wednesday

I'm really enjoying the new Tim Burton series on Netflix; Wednesday.

Recommend you give it a try, it's vintage Burton.

WesterNoir Kickstarters are being sent out.

I'm working my way through the mailings of WesterNoir packs to all those who backed us on Kickstarter. It's great that's the Royal Mail have a service now where they come to your house and collect your parcels, makes things some much easier.

Sadly they have a strike on this weekend which slows things down a little but I've made a solid start.

Thought Bubble 2022

This was the first event where I've been part of the Time Bomb tables, we had three (I moved my previously booked table next to theirs).

It did feel a little strange not be good next to Colin, but there had been a few Cons before where we'd been split up due to the challenges of booking tables, so I was used to it a bit. And of course I had Steve Tanner and Gary Crutchley to wind up.

It really was great to be another Con, after an absence due to an illness I've suffered and not being able to drive meant having to take taxis and trains, but it was worth it.

The Halls were full of great looking comics from very talented people. Some I know and many I don't. It was great catching up with people I've collaborated with in the past and to make a couple of contacts for future collaborations.

On Saturday we had Ian Ashcroft at the table with us, selling some of his original art and copies of Kia, and it was really good to get time to discuss issue 4 with him. Yep, we'll be cracking on with that in the new year.

Having three new titles on the table was a new experience for me, but all sold very well. Lots of people coming back for latest issues as well as new readers buying the full sets.

Evening meals were relaxed, once we'd found somewhere that could fit us in, and we discussed a lot of future projects, exciting times ahead. Great to catch up with Colin and Scott on Saturday night, where despite there being no burgers Scott really enjoyed his meal :o)

Sunday was quieter than Saturday, as these things tend to be, but we still did very well.

All in all another very successful show for us and one where Steve and Gary actually seemed to get on...

Looking forward to next year's Con already.

..and just in time for Thought Bubble...

 Kia issue 3 arrived.

All set then.
